Chicago Highlights & Ski Bound :)

Henry, Grant's national travel buddy.

Welcome back to Marc and Melissa's Road-trip!

We left Chicago with our snowy views of this urban metropolis. While it is a busy city, we noticed the streets and sidewalks quiet down on a Sunday afternoon before the Superbowl.
After paying a bunch of tolls in Illinois and running through the fast lane without the fast pass, we entered Iowa. I know what your thinking, "Iowa? That has to be the worst drive ever" but it was actually very beautiful in its own way. The car ride was relatively quiet and the space around us inspired us to think about what it would be like to live in such a simple peaceful place. We have never seen space where there is nothing but open fields and rolling hills quite like beautiful Iowa.

We entered into Iowa and watched the temperatures continue to plummet. Our plan was to check into the hotel and find a local favorite steak house ASAP. After some intense steakhouse research, we found the perfect restaurant, The Drover! Their specialty...whiskey marinaded Omaha Steaks! The place was a true gem, Melissa ordered the Whiskey Sirloin and I had the 16 oz Whiskey Bone in Ribeye. Melissa doesn't even like steak and she said this was the best she had ever had. I mean this was the whole reason we decided to come through Omaha, and they definitely didn't disappoint:)

See you in the Rockies!
